Laneige Water Sleeping Mask Gives You Fresh, Glowy Skin-Care Commercial Skin Overnight
LANEIGE WATER SLEEPING MASK REVIEW
You know how in skin-care commercials, there's always a woman in a white tank top leaning over a sink or a bowl of water (?) rinsing her face serenely by dramatically splashing water on it in slow motion? Totally unrealistic but it looks pretty refreshing and hydrating, right?
Now imagine that a supercut of that scene was somehow bottled — and that is essentially the gist of Laneige's Water Sleeping Mask. The overnight mask just looks like a clear gel that you slather on as the last step of your nighttime skin-care routine. It feels cool and refreshing — not at all like you're marmalade-ing your face in clear jelly (which you essentially are). I made the mistake of really globbing in on when I first tried this and while it was not a detriment to my skin, my pillow might've gotten a bit soggy.
The learning curve that I shall share with you so you don't make the same mistakes I did is that it works best if you start with a small amount (like as much you would use if it were a serum) and rub and pat that in until absorbed. And then, repeat. Layering is key! I feel like it really imparts moisture and then seals in the moisture with another layer of itself. Pretty clever, huh? Extra hydration, pillow stays clean, everyone's happy.
The idea of a thick sleeping mask may make those prone to congested pores nervous, but this is a gel so it doesn't clog pores as much as it forms a moisture barrier on top of them, pushing its hydrating agenda into your face while you sleep — a very low-lift skin-care regime. I can say that I woke up with super plump-looking, hydrated skin — as if I had been dramatically splashing water in my face as I slept (the beauty editor's version of sleep-walking?).
Supposedly, one is sold every 12 seconds, so I have you a bit outnumbered, if you haven't tried this yet.
