If you are a skincare-obsessed person, there’s a huge possibility that you have already come across this product. The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask has been everyone’s skincare staple ever since its release last 2015. What’s the hype all about? Well apparently, this sleeping mask from Laneige is your miracle jar skincare product that immensely transforms your skin overnight! Yes, it claims to give you much better skin and all you have to do is apply it and go to sleep. Of course, that’s quite a huge claim and I initially thought it sounds a bit gimmicky. But since I am a huge Laneige fan, I knew I had to give it a shot and review it!

According to Laneige’s official website, this sleeping mask fully moisturises and revitalises the skin resulting to plumper, smoother and more radiant skin. This mask claims to work its wonders deep into the pores while you sleep. It aids in skin cell regeneration which normally happens when one is asleep. By applying the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, the ability of your skin to regenerate new skin cells gets boosted; making your skin look and feel healthy.
It also features an advanced skincare technology called SLEEP-TOX™. This plays a huge role in effectively purifying the skin as you sleep. It helps soothe the skin and relieve stress by visibly brightening your complexion.
Packaging
The jar is quite heavy and sturdy which gives it an “expensive” feeling. In addition to this, it also has a protection seal to assure that what you’re getting is new and authentic. Laneige is a very popular brand globally so always check the authenticity seal since there are some fakes making rounds in the market. You really have to buy from credible sellers to keep safe!
One jar contains 70ml worth of product. It’s quite a generous amount if you ask me! A little goes a very long way so one jar can last you up to 7 or 8 months over regular use.

Texture & Consistency
The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask has a very thick and gel-like consistency. Its texture is very rich, in a way that it really gives the impression of being a super hydrating product. In addition to this, it also smells divine! I can smell this all day and feel superbly relaxed. Actually, the scent is also a specially developed fragrance by Amore Pacific called SLEEPSCENT™. Apart from revitalising your skin, this sleeping mask also gives off a relaxing scent to make you sleep better.
While it has quite a thick formula, it applies smoothly and gets absorbed by the skin quickly. In fact, it turns into a very watery cream as you massage it onto your skin. It also feels very lightweight unlike most heavy-duty moisturisers that leave a thick, greasy moisture film.
I personally get annoyed whenever I put heavy moisturiser at night just for it to end up getting transferred all over my pillow! Laneige’s Water Sleeping Pack, however, gets fully absorbed into the skin within 5 minutes which leaves your skin feeling fresh.
As it gets absorbed into the skin, I immediately noticed a visible glow due to the sleeping mask’s dewy moisture film. It is definitely the “glow” most Korean celebrities flaunt!
The Final Verdict
As of writing this review, I have been using the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask for more than a year already. Ever since the first time using it, I already noticed a huge improvement on my skin! So in hopes of actually monitoring improvement, I had to ask my sister to use it for 3 weeks since she has never tried it before. Here’s a Before and After shot of her skin:
Both photos are take under the same room, same lighting. As you can see, her dark spots have become less visible and her skin looks more radiant compared before.

I really tried my best thinking of a downside but all I have is love for this sleeping mask! There’s a reason why it’s an award-winning skincare product. Honestly, there aren’t a lot of skincare products out there that really live up to their claims.
